
The Rev. Emily M. Brown has been the Pastor of First Reformed Church, Hastings-on- Hudson since September of 2017. Prior to her pastorate here, she most recently served as Associate Pastor of Broadway UCC in New York City. She received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University magna cum laude in Comparative Religion and her M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary, and has been an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ since 2012. She was the 2010 recipient of the David H. C. Read Memorial Preacher/Scholar Award, given annually by Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, as well as Union Theological Seminary’s Kneeland Award. She co-chairs the UCC New York Metro Association Committee on Ministry and has served on the Board of Young Clergy Women International, and as the Co-Managing Editor of Fidelia, YCWI’s online publication. Her writing has appeared in Bread Enough for All: A Day1 Guide to Life and When Kids Ask Hard Questions: Faith-filled Responses for Tough Topics. She also appeared on the game show Jeopardy! in 2018. Stepmom to one child and mom to two more, she enjoys exploring great restaurants and bakeries, reading memoirs and graphic novels, choral singing, and playing in a competitive online trivia league.
